Dhaka, May 6 (sunnews24.com) -- Prime minister Sheikh Hasina said on Sunday that Rabindranath Tagore's works have created a bridge of bonding between India and
Bangladesh, overlooking the nations' physical border.
"There shall be problems between neighbouring countries, but those are resolvable. We have proven it," she said at a session of the 150th birth anniversary of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore.
Saying that maintaining good relations with the neighbours is a policy of the government for overall development of South Asia, Hasina said, "We are working to that end."
The two years of joint celebration by India and Bangladesh would end with a series of programmes marking the 151st birth anniversary of the Nobel laureate on May 8.
"Rabindranath's poetry has the strength to conquer sorrows. His various works would remain an inspiration for the current and future generations," she said.
"The poet showed how to turn sorrows into strength. The path of truth is very harsh," she said in reference to the poet's creation.
